How Coffee Fuels an Excitement for Missions
Las Vegas, Nevada – In 2014 The Crossing was moving into a new building and had decided to use their coffee area to focus on local and world missions. Beginning by choosing HOPE Coffee for their brewed coffee and the base for their espresso drinks, everything about The Reach Cafe would point toward the various missions of the church. They even named their cafe after their missions program, “Reach.”
Every week hundreds of people flow through The Reach Cafe to meet up with friends, get their caffeine fix and catch up on the current missions news at The Crossing. Posted around Reach Cafe you will find spotlights on various local and foreign missions groups the church supports. On the tables you will see information on upcoming missions trip opportunities. On the screens in the corners you can view images of recent missions trips. Some Sundays you will even find visiting missionaries greeting church members and discussing how God is moving in their part of the world through the support of The Crossing.
The Reach Cafe has become the “missions hub” of the church. Church members know that each cup of HOPE Coffee they consume helps meet basic needs for families around the world, all while sharing the love of Jesus. Local and world missions are not abstract ideas, but very real movements in which they play a vital role.
